With Gamescom just around the corner, we wanted to share some of the last-minute opportunities available as we have a whole host of exciting upcoming games to show off at this year’s show – including the console release of Shuyan Saga as well as the post-apocalyptic REMEDIUM and brand new RPG BattleJuice Alchemist! Meetings are available for seven of our titles, starting with the twin-stick shooter REMEDIUM, from developer Sobaka Studio. REMEDIUM is a fast-paced twin-stick shooter game set in a grim post-apocalyptic Renaissance setting. Over a hundred years have passed since a terrible plague devoured the continent, turning most of its inhabitants into maddened mutants. Only a handful of survivors have managed to find refuge behind the huge walls of the fortress cities. And while you are one of the fortunate few, your luck runs out when you get infected while foraging outside the city walls. Now your only hope is to fight through the hordes of mutants and chimeras and to find the cure!
Next up on the ESDigital Games slate is BattleJuice Alchemist, an RPG from developer Alchemical Works, which is also available in the Business and the Entertainment Zones. BattleJuice Alchemist is a complex alchemy RPG that adds an equipment-based skill system to the classic action RPG formula. Focus on top-down combat, or opt for JRPG-style one-on-one fights! Explore the wilderness, learn ritual magic, and craft potions to fight demonic hordes overrunning the lands.
Meanwhile, over in the Business Zone, we’ll be showcasing Lofty Sky Entertainment’s graphic novel series Shuyan Saga – which is coming to consoles for the first time later this year! The game has been fully adapted for consoles. The new gamepad controls are well-suited to the fighting game genre, and allow players to get the most out of the Chinese martial arts fantasy. And for the console release, many additional languages have been added to the game – including French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian, Korean, and Japanese at a later date.
That’s not Lofy Sky Entertainment’s only opportunity at this year’s Gamescom – you’ll also have the chance to get hands-on with Sky of Tides – their sci-fi narrative game set in a technologically advanced universe on the brink of war. Play as Rin, who must search for her missing father and heal the broken planet of Numen. Rin will be shaped by your behavior, and the world will respond to it. Sky of Tides’ ‘RPG-lite’ approach is focused around a simple game loop that rewards both exploration and player choice while keeping storytelling at the heart of the experience.
Next up, head over to either the Business or Entertainment Zones to check out Magic Hazard’s thrilling cyberpunk shooter Memory Lost. In this story-driven action shooter, the battles are built around the mechanics of mind-capturing and taking over the enemy’s body. The first-aid kits never arrived, and there’s only one magazine in each weapon – switch bodies to survive!
The cat lovers among you won’t want to miss out on this one – as Prikol Team’s Cats on Duty will be available in both the Business and Entertainment Zones. Cats on Duty is a Tower Defense RTS with embedded match-3 mechanics. Your goal is to connect gems on the resource field in order to receive currency and buy cat towers for it. Cats on the battlefield can also be swapped and combined for an upgraded tower. The developers drew inspiration from PvZ and Tower Swap, taking the best of the genre and enhancing it with addictive match-3 mechanics.
And finally, we are offering press the opportunity to check out Dark Pigeon Games’ dark fairytale Metroidvania title AWAKEN – Astral Blade. Weave your own story in this dark fairy tale. In the mysterious ancient ruins, Tania, a girl who has been parasitized by an alien beast, tries to break through the fog and uncover the truth about her fate. Is there any chance of survival in the darkest place? Featuring exciting combat, a rich plot and diverse and unique costumes, be sure to check out AWAKEN – Astral Blade at this year’s Gamescom!
